Defiance & Desperation

A collection of ten poems by actor, artivist, and poet, Jaquair Gillette expressing the realities, thoughts, ideas, and possible solutions to the issues of the world we live in. From the first poem, Defiance to the last poem We are the Solutiion, Jaquair uses the first technology of man, 'The spoken word" to show the depths of our reality and how a better world is possible. If the plight and struggles of all marginalized peoples in general, African Americans in particular, artists, the ecology, and the author's personal journey can be summed up in two words it would be Defiance & Desperation.
